About Me
I'm a full stack developer currently based in Bournemouth on the South Coast of the UK. I'm married to Ashlee and we have a baby daughter, Bella ❤️
I previously worked in the offshore industry as an ROV Pilot for various Norwegian companies but a few years ago decided on a career change after catching the coding bug.
You can see my relevant work and education history below, but feel free to reach out if you want to know more ✌🏻

Education History
Msc Computer Science @ Keele University
From: Sept. 1, 2021 To: Aug. 31, 2023Following my bootcamp, I wanted to continue with my studies so enrolled on an online masters degree. I found it helpful to go over some of the more intense subjects from the bootcamp (such as data structures) with a bit more time, and it also gave me the opportunity to learn Python to a decent level.
My final project was a prototype for an NHS clinical guidelines platform that the University was involved with. I proposed using Wagtail CMS as an editable datastore that could then act as an API for a static site build using NextJS. The research team took some of my concepts to potentially build into the final commercial product.
I was awarded a distinction as my final grade for the course.
CodeWorks Bootcamp
From: Nov. 2, 2020 To: Feb. 26, 2021After deciding I wanted to change into a software role, I took a sabbatical from my previous offshore career and enrolled in the CodeWorks bootcamp. I had already taught myself the basics of web development following the completion of my BEng and so wanted a course that didn't start from the very beginning.
The entrance requirements were already quite steep to get in (a jQuery clone, a small browser-based app and an interview with one of the instructors solving some logic problems) and so it was an incredibly intense experience, with 12 hour days for 6 days a week over the 3 months. I felt I learned an enormous amount in a short space of time, and was building functional full stack applications by the end of the program.
BEng Electronic Systems Engineering (Hons) @ Portsmouth University
From: Sept. 10, 2017 To: July 14, 2019I topped up my existing Electrical and Electronic Engineering HND to a full degree. Units included advanced electronics, control engineering, digital signals processing and data communications.
My final project was a PLC controlled oil filtration system, and it was during the programming of this that I realised that I wanted to explore software development as a potential new career.
I was awarded a first class degree.
