I currently work as a full stack developer for Weissman, a digital agency based in Bournemouth

Following my bootcamp, I wanted to continue with my studies so enrolled on an online masters degree. I found it helpful to go over some of the more intense subjects from the bootcamp (such as data structures) with a bit more time, and it also gave me the opportunity to learn Python to a decent level.

My final project was a prototype for an NHS clinical guidelines platform that the University was involved with. I proposed using Wagtail CMS as an editable datastore that could then act as an API for a static site build using NextJS. The research team took some of my concepts to potentially build into the final commercial product.

I was awarded a distinction as my final grade for the course.

After deciding I wanted to change into a software role, I took a sabbatical from my previous career and enrolled in the CodeWorks bootcamp. I had already taught myself the basics of web development and so wanted a course that didn't start from the very beginning.

The entrance requirements were already quite steep to get in (a jQuery clone, a small browser-based app and an interview with one of the instructors solving some logic problems) and so it was an incredibly intense experience, with 12 hour days for 6 days a week over the 3 months. I felt I learned an enormous amount in a short space of time, and was building functional full stack applications by the end of the program.
